That moment
a find
one that fixates the mind
it’s shiny
it’s new
and it’s oh so you
in your hand
it feels right
the thrill of the find
you buy it
it’s yours
there’s a moment of joy
but then it is yours
and it’s just a toy
one that’s neat
not nirvana
you’re happy
you realize
you reflect
on a life
filled with so many things
it’s not joy
but a thrill
it’s quite empty
I feel
a hollow sensation
for things
once thought precious
turned to a death checklist
